Soc. networking - I know very little - just Google.
I would like to know how to use social networking to help students  learn in large and small groups.
I have learned how wiki can be used to create group documents through the internet. How to navigate wiki to successfully change the line color and create additional documents.  As far as other sites  - I have questions about all of them.
I have learned how to socialize using Google docs. How do we save all of this stuff to our e-school site??
How to bookmark using Delicious and how to add fans.

http://teche.pbworks.com/Social-Networking = Sheri's wiki class info.

*** = most user friendly to me.

Site name How to use this with students Reflections What to remember
Wiki  *** Create documents that many people can edit - example used was the camping list. Could be used in reading to share plot information as students read the book - list what you thought happened in chapt. 1.  Other students could read your inforation and add their thoughts. Easy to edit and save.

How to create a grid using the grid-like tab at the top.

Use Control and click to edit graphs.

Delicious*** Helps students keep track of all of their documents and web sites.  Will also help me organize my desktop, documents and web sites into groups by topic. One place to keep all information. Use the bookmark tab at the top to add - then check My Delicious to make sure it was saved.
Google Docs Create a class list with URLs to share Delicious bookmarks easily.  Could be used to keep track of what sites to use for researching specific topics in content areas. These sites can be blocked by site or by all.  Ony specified people can get the information. This is where we added our collective URLs so all can work on the same page. - The list of class members and their sites.

Have students do research, then create a presentation with music, pictures and information.  Students can view each other's information and comment.

Also great for literature circles!!

Much more engaging for students!  It also addresses different learning styles.  Photos were easy to do and add.

Sheri says it is safer.  Remember to check email to approve as things are added.

Photos - go to applications and then photo booth.

Grou.ps Unsuccessful access so far Looking at the home page - it looks very busy! Check email to see if I have access so far.
Blogs  Can search for specific topics and safe people to use with research.  Students can comment about the information and received comments back.  Should be monitored for safety.  Can be very helpful.  Use the Google Suite first to make posting comments easier.
xtranormal.com Use to have students create their own movie with claymation like characters, speech, music, etc.  Great to have them act out part of a novel used in class to check comprehension! I loved playing with this - very user friendly!! So easy to use - no notes needed here.

You have a great start on your final project! Student do find this engaging, but as you said, you can tie in all music, photos and dialogue into a ning.
